Game Rules (WIP)

Reverie is a game about sleep.
The dreams, nightmares, and the things in between.
You use the creatures engraved within the cards to wake up your opponent, letting you rest just a bit longer.

Both players start at 0 Wake Points and draw a starting hand of 5 cards.
Players use their cards, primarily Terrors and Horrors, to give their opponent Fear.
Fear is added to a player's Wake Points. When a player reaches 20 Wake Points, they wake up and lose the game.

~ Some basic things ~

Turn Phases
1. Draw Phase
2. Main Phase
3. End Phase

The Deck
A deck may have a minimum of 40 cards and a max of 60 cards.
There can only be 3 copies of the same card in a deck, this does not include Tone cards.

The Field

Field

2. Nightmare Field - Terrors, Nightmares played here

Card Types

There are five types of cards in Reverie:

Tone - The resource cards

Terrors - Basic creature cards

Horrors - Similar to Terrors but are more "special"

Dreams - Cards that are typically played once and are then discarded

Nightmares - Cards that are set face down and only activated under certain conditions, similar to Dreams

Tone

Tone

Tones are cards used to activated Terror and Horror effects, along with playing Dreams and Horrors themselves.
There are 2 types of tones, Frost and Ember.
Only 1 Tone, regardless of type, may be played per turn.
* Frost is shortened to f on cards.
* Ember is shortened to e on cards.

To use Tone, you displace (turn sideways) the Tone in play.
If a Tone is displaced while it's face down, it's discarded.
At the start of your turn, all of your Tone are undisplaced.

* Once per turn you may flip 1 face up, undisplaced Tone face down to draw 1 card.

Terrors

(Left Effectless Terror) (Right Effect Terror)

Terrors

Terrors are your main way of attacking and defending against your opponent. Terrors can attack the player directly or opposing Terrors/Horrors.
